The blade nr. 15 has a small curved cutting edge and is the most popular blade shape, ideal for making short and precise incisions . It is used in a variety of surgical procedures, including excision of a skin lesion or recurrent sebaceous cyst and for opening coronary arteries. The No. 15 fits on handles No. 3. Not only the surgeons use Swann Morton products, but also Dentists, Vets and Pedicures.

The way a surgical blade is handled before use can determine how effective it is during use performs. There are a number of ways in which the cutting edge of a knife can be damaged after it has been removed from its protective foil package.
When removing a knife from its protective package, make sure it is not placed in a metal bowl or container is dropped as this may reduce the initial sharpness of the cutting edge even before it is attached to the handle. If you need to use pliers or a needle holder to remove the blade from its protective packaging, be careful not to grab the blade over the cutting edge.
