Fresco BLAND ROSE Soft Silicone has as its main characteristic its softness with a hardness Shore A (from 2 to 4).
Please note: the catalyst is not included and must be spart to be ordered.
How to use:
Making a good orthosis takes 3 to 4 minutes. It is not recommended to try to limit this time by adding more and more catalyst.
1. Before adding the catalyst: Take the amount of silicone* you need for the correction. Knead the silicone with both hands by moving the fingers quickly. This mixes the silicone with the film of oil that tends to form at the top of the jar. * The whole range of silicones can be mixed together to obtain the right softness, from the softest Bland-Rose to the hardest 1400.
2. Determining the amount of catalyst: The normal ratio is one drop of liquid catalyst per gram of silicone. For example, 4 to 5 drops of Reactol are needed for 5 grams of silicone, but this can vary from 3 to 7 drops. Note that the harder the silicone, the less catalyst is needed.
3. The orthosis: The catalyst should be added in two steps. Add half of the drops first and mix quickly and vigorously with the silicone for 20 to 25 seconds. Then add the other half and mix again for 20 to 25 seconds. Then shape the silicone into a ball in your hand to ensure proper mixing and prevent cracking. Keep rolling the ball gently in your hands until you feel the silicone harden. That is the right time to apply the silicone to the foot in the desired shape. After a waiting time of 2 to 3 minutes, the silicone may be removed.
We advise you not to leave the silicone on the foot, but to give it in a bag with the instruction to wait 72 hours before wearing the silicone for the first time. Important advice strong> Never put your hands in the jar when making an orthosis. The catalyst on your hands can damage the silicone in the pot. Never put on an orthosis with gloves. Wash hands thoroughly before handling the silicone. The talc usually found in the gloves will cause the silicone to stick to your hands. Shelf life of the silicone: The silicone has a lifespan of approximately 5 years. If after a while a layer of oil has formed at the top, take all the silicone out of the pot and mix it well by hand. You can then put the silicone back in the pot and continue working as it should. Shelf life of Reaktol If you notice that the silicone is not curing properly, the catalyst may have gone bad. The catalytic converter has a lifespan of one to one and a half years. It is important to keep the catalytic converter tightly closed and away from a heat source. If it takes too long for the silicone to set, replace the catalytic converter. Warm environment and warm hands: If your hands are warm (e.g. after a massage or in hot weather) it is best to wash your hands with cold water before fitting an orthosis; this will prevent the silicone from sticking. Water does not affect the silicone. If you find that the silicone sticks to your hands, use a little water. Fresco's silicones are made by mixing a number of components. The artisanal production process can cause small differences from one production to another, but without affecting the properties of the silicone. div>
